Chuck Mangione concert in Tahoe Donner
“Jazz on the Green” at Tahoe Donner on Saturday, July 28 offers a great evening of music as Grammy award-winner Chuck Mangione and his horn join the Lake Tahoe Summer Music Festival Orchestra.
For five decades, Chuck’s boundless energy, unabashed enthusiasm and pure joy have characterized his love affair with music and the resulting admiration of his audience.
The Saturday night show starts at 7 p.m., with gates opening for picnic dinners at 5 p.m. Tickets are $25 adult, $15 youth. Bring friends, a picnic, low back chairs, a blanket and enjoy the scenic mountain setting.
Chuck has been a favorite of Lake Tahoe Summer Music Festival concert-goers.
Mangione, best known for his 1977 hit “Feels So Good,” has been performing for three decades. He released an album a few years ago to critical acclaim, The Feeling’s Back, which features Brazilian classics like “Manha de Carnaval” and a tango, “Aldovia.” His performances are characterized by his boundless energy, unabashed enthusiasm and pure love of music. Most recently, Chuck returned to the environment that brought him back to recording and has laid down his newest release, Everything for Love.
In this, perhaps his most personal and reflective recording to date, Chuck reveals his true loves and the reason he has remained an influential Jazz icon for over 40 years.
