Civil Air Patrol holds award dinner

TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The Tahoe Truckee Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol held their annual Awards Dinner Dec. 8 at the Truckee Tahoe Airport. More than 50 friends and family members attended the event. Col. Ralph Miller, from the Nevada Wing Civil Air Patrol, presented 2nd Lt. Jonathan Friesen with his Mitchell Award; Jonathan is currently the most-senior cadet in the Squadron. Many awards were handed out to Senior (adult) members and cadets. Lily Gabriel (former CAP Lt. Col.) was honored for her service as the Deputy Commander for Cadets for the past year and a half. Lt. Col. Robert Todd was given an Award for his many years of service to the Civil Air Patrol and a plaque for his outstanding contributions to the Squadron, including former Squadron Commander. Tanna Sortor and Angela Wells were promoted to 2nd Lieutenant and are helping with the cadets. New senior members to join the Squadron include: Daniuel Baraz, Derrek Aaron, William Chastain, 1st Lt. Kevin Quinn and Capt. Joshua McDonald.
