Clean-up days slated for Truckee and North Shore

Tired of seeing trash in your neighborhood? Well, ’tis the season for spring cleaning, and three different events are coming to the area in the coming weeks that will make our streets spic and span.

There will be a Donner Lake Cleanup in preparation for the summer boating season. Meet at the main boat ramp at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, Thursday, May 25 and Friday, May 26. The event is organized by the Truckee Police Department, California State Parks, Truckee Fire Protection District, the Donner Lake Homeowners Association and the public.

Association (NTBA) Main Street program and North Tahoe Public Utility District in keeping Kings Beach and Tahoe Vista beautiful at North Lake Tahoe Cleanup Day, on Saturday, June 3. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at two locations ” the North Tahoe Conference Center parking lot in Kings Beach and Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort in Tahoe Vista. After the cleanup, celebrate with a barbecue. Call 546-9000.



Truckee Day is Saturday, June 3. Last year, 1,000 volunteers hit the streets and picked up more than nine tons of trash. In addition to the roadside cleanup, a town-wide block party will take place at noon at Truckee River Regional Park. Cleanup volunteers will get free entry and food, and there will be live music.
