Climbing the walls? Compete in the Tahoe Triple Crown
If you like climbing the walls, check out the new Tahoe Triple Crown, a competitive event for men, women and children with the biggest cash prize in the country, according to Jason Burg, owner of High Altitude Fitness in Incline Village, Nev.
and#8220;Iand#8217;m really just trying to build and strengthen the climbing community,and#8221; said Burg. and#8220;Itand#8217;s a great sport for anybody, challenging mentally and physically and a great work out. We are going to have a cash prize, but itand#8217;s mainly about the community getting together and having fun at events. And meeting with new people and having fun with old friends.and#8221;
The First Annual Tahoe Triple Crown will stress sportsmanship and fun over competition. The Tahoe Triple Crown is a series where competitors points will be added up throughout event and winners will be crowned April 3, 2010 at the finals.
The first competition is Dec. 5, and Burg expects the Tahoe Triple Crown to draw some of the strongest climbers from the Bay Area and Tahoe region.
Registration $20 per event or $40 for all three. All competitors will need to fill out a High Altitude Fitness waiver.
