Coldwell Banker kicks off Toys for Tots Collection

TAHOE CITY, Calif. andamp;#8212; Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, will celebrate its 25th consecutive year as a participant in the United States Marine Corps Reserveandamp;#8217;s Toys for Tots program, offering two kick off parties.Along with four Tahoe-Truckee Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage offices, many local businesses will serve as official collection centers for new, unwrapped toys Nov. 25 through Dec. 15. Collection stations can be identified by a prominently displayed U.S. Marine Corps Reserveandamp;#8217;s banner. All toys collected will be donated locally to children in need through Truckeeandamp;#8217;s Community Christmas program and in the North Lake Tahoe area by Elaine Durazo, the Marine Corps Reserveandamp;#8217;s Toys for Tots local coordinator organizer and agent with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. Applications for receipt of toys can be picked up at the North Tahoe Events Center in Kings Beach, North Tahoe Middle and High Schools, the Tahoe City Library and the Boys andamp; Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is also inviting the public to two Toys for Tots community parties. The first will be held Thursday, Dec. 1, 5-8 p.m. at Zanoandamp;#8217;s Italian Restaurant, 11401 Donner Pass Road, Truckee. The second will be held Friday, Dec. 9, 4-9 p.m. at Sunnyside Resort and Lodge, 1850 West Lake Blvd., Tahoe City. Free appetizers, desserts, cocoa and refreshments will be served, live music will be provided by Sheldon Felich and Band, and Santa will be present for photos and to hand out candy canes. Entry to the event will be a donation of a new, unwrapped toy for a child up to 17 years of age.andamp;#8220;As the designated local coordinator organizer for Toys for Tots I am proud to be coordinating this yearandamp;#8217;s kick-off parties and the collection and distribution activities in the Truckee-Tahoe area,andamp;#8221; said Durazo. andamp;#8220;The success of this campaign could not be achieved without the support and efforts of the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage team, Truckee Soroptomist, Truckee Community Christmas, and the many participating businesses.
