Community Report: Boys andamp; Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe

The sale will take place on Aug. 8, 2009 at Northstar-at-Tahoe from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will include new and gently used items, a raffle and children’s art show. Food and refreshments will be available for shoppers as well. All proceeds go the programs and services at the Club, where more than 200 kids go for support and positive guidance daily. Please support our efforts in one of the following ways:Donate tangible goods to the Sale. Now is a good time to do house cleaning andamp;#8212; switch over inventories and clear the way for a new season. If you have items that would normally sit in storage and take up space, send them our way!Donate a service to the sale Gift certificates will be raffled off and are a good way for you to expand your customer base.Make a cash donation to help underwrite the cost of the sale.Buy raffle ticketsandamp;#8230;call 546-4324 or stop by the Club to purchase.

More than 80 campers showed up to Bike Rodeo Week July 13-17, fully equipped with bikes, helmets and tricks to share and show off. The week started with obstacle courses, road safety classes and bike rides through Kings Beach. Throughout the week, campers participated in trick contests, the longest skid mark contest and a stunt/trick riding performance by a local BMX teen group called andamp;#8220;Team Awesome.andamp;#8221; Team Awesome consists of Club members Shane Cox, Lance Pranin and TJ Owens. The week finished with an escorted bike parade through Kings Beach.
