The Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe invites the North Tahoe and Truckee community to participate in the 2nd annual Community Sale to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe.The sale will take place on Aug. 8, 2009 at Northstar-at-Tahoe from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. New and gently used items, a raffle and kid art show. Food and refreshments will be available for shoppers. All proceeds go to the programs and services at the club, where more than 200 kids go for support and positive guidance daily.Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe was founded in 1998 in response to a lack of affordable, year-round youth development services on the North Shore. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow, all while having fun. It is truly “The Positive Place For Kids.”Based on physical, emotional, cultural and social needs and interests of girls and boys, and recognizing developmental principles, the Club offers program activities in six core areas: Technology, education and career development, the arts, health and life skills, character and leadership skills, and sports, fitness and recreation.Accepting the following types of donations: Gently used items, i.e.: furniture, glass wear and home dcor, gift certificates for raffle, cash donations.Contact Linda Jones or Katie Tyler at or Visit or call 546-4324.
