Congratulations to Tahoe Forest Hospital
Groundbreaking – n. The act or ceremony of breaking ground to begin a construction project. adj. Characterized by originality and innovation., providing innovative technology.
Both definitions aptly describe the current status of the Tahoe Forest Hospital District.
On Saturday, May 3 at 10 a.m., the hospital will ceremoniously break ground on its’ new West Wing expansion. The public is invited to attend the groundbreaking. It’s a good time to consider the benefits of having such a facility in the community.
The hospital has served this community for the past 50 years. Services have been provided by skilled physicians, nurses and hospital staff, using state-of-the-art medical technology . Those services include but are not limited to emergency medicine, surgery, orthopedics, diagnostic services, labor and delivery, physical therapy and the list goes on. And the benefits are not limited to medical services only, but accessibility.
Consider having to drive 45 minutes or more for quality health care, emergency medicine or treatment. With the Tahoe Forest Hospital located in our community, we reap the benefits of accessible, quality care. The hospital is connected to this community, the staff lives and works here. The staff is comprised of many local residents with an interest in this community. It is vital that the hospital district maintains the facility that houses such valuable services.
The West Wing expansion, using funds raised through revenue bonds, staff and community donations, will bring the hospital up to seismic standards while adding surgical facilities and in-patient care rooms.
As Truckee continues to grow, the demand for leading edge health care grows with it. We congratulate the hospital district, the board of directors and foundation staff for their work in providing our community with quality health care, in a quality facility.
