Connection between airports and tourism to be discussed at Good Morning Truckee

TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; The June 14 Good Morning Truckee will feature two speakers discussing air service as it relates to tourism and regional and community aviation facilities.Krys Bart, A.A.E., president/CEO for the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, is responsible for leading and directing the Reno-Tahoe International Airport and the Reno Stead Airport with an operating budget of $46 million. In 2010, Krys Bart was named one of Nevada’s Most Influential Citizens by the Nevada Business Journal, joining a distinguished group of prominent Nevadans who are recognized as andamp;#8220;far-thinking, clear-sighted and pro-Nevada.andamp;#8221; Bart took over as Reno-Tahoe Airport Director in 1998. She was named 2007 Airport Director of the Year by Airport Revenue News Magazine and held the prestigious position of Chair of the Board of American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) in 2007. The AAAE is a nonprofit professional organization made up of international airport executives and is considered the most influential airport organization in the world.Kathleen Eagan is currently the president of the board of directors for the Truckee Tahoe Airport. She was elected to the board in 2004. Eagan came to Truckee in 1987 after working for Wells Fargo in San Francisco. She was elected to the first town council in 1993, and served as Truckee’s first Mayor. The Truckee Tahoe Airport provides high quality aviation facilities and services to meet local needs, and strives for low impact on neighbors while enhancing the benefit to the community-at-large. Community collaborative projects have included working with the Truckee Donner Land Trust to purchase Waddle Ranch and with the Town of Truckee and the Truckee Donner Recreation andamp; Park District to purchase Ponderosa Golf Course.Good Morning Truckee is a community forum presented by the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce to provide timely and relevant information on a variety of topics and create a networking opportunity.Good Morning Truckee is open to the public: Everyone is invited. It is held the second Tuesday of every month at Truckee Town Hall from 7-8:30 a.m. As a Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce member benefit, members receive a reduced rate.
