Creekside Cooperative Charter School to hold Annual Souper Bowl Fundraiser

Creekside Cooperative Charter School, a California K-8 Public Charter School, will host its annual fundraiser, The Souper Bowl, Sunday, May 2 from 1:30-4:30 p.m., Held at the Rideout Community Center (two miles South of Sunnyside Resort), the event is an invitation for the community to enjoy soups served in bowls painted by Creekside students, who will also provide Beatles-inspired entertainment. Appetizers, dessert, coffee and tea are included.

Children attending the event will enjoy crafts, including face painting, hat making, paint spinning, coloring and games. There will also be an opportunity to paint bowls with the folks from All Fired Up, at a special rate of $12. Or visit All Fired Up before April 30 to paint your own bowl.

For adults there is a silent auction, live auction and raffle. The Grand Price is a seven-night Dream Vacation in Hawaii or Mexico, which includes a $500 gift voucher and a destination tourist trip. (Does not include plane tickets. Restrictions may apply.)

This event provides a chance to meet the schooland#8217;s staff, parents and students, and to learn about the schooland#8217;s program and educational philosophy. Creekside Cooperative is an innovative hybrid model of education operating within an Independent Study format for families seeking alternatives to traditional education in the Tahoe-Truckee area. Proceeds from this event will directly fund the schooland#8217;s Enrichment Program which provides experiential workshops in art, gardening, hands-on science and technology exploration, downhill and cross country skiing, watershed education, music, drama and more.

Raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20 and tickets for the event are $15 for adults (children are free). Raffle tickets are currently on sale through Creekside students or are available at Ruffles and Ruffnecks, New Moon/Uncommon Kitchen in Tahoe City, and The Crest Cafe in Alpine Meadows. Also available at the door.
