On Friday Oct. 12, guests are invited to wear their favorite team colors and join guest chefs Pam and Tom Hobday for this Cal Bears vs. Oregon Ducks themed social foodie event.Pam and Tom Hobday are passionate about our community and are excited to share their love of culinary arts with Dragonfly. They were both instrumental in the development of the Gene Upshaw Memorial Cancer Center, have both received the Paul Harris Award and currently serve on the Tahoe Forest Hospital District Foundation Board. Tom is the founder and president of The Tahoe Institute for Rural Health Research, Pam is the owner/president of Pamela Hurt Associates and received the Woman of Distinction Award in 2009. Pam is a University of Oregon alum and Tom graduated from University of California Berkeley. The rivalry between their alma maters will influence each dish presented throughout the evening.The menu crafted by the Hobdays includes: Cal oski salad with cured wild salmon, blackberries and watercress; Oregon duck potstickers with gold and green sauces; “Peaking” duck and bear claws with a strawberry canyon coulis.Tom will man the bar to create rivalry between themed libations including Oregon lemonade vodka spritzer with lime, as well as the Cal Golden Bear. Rivalry drinks will be counted to see which sells more and to see where the fan base truly lies.Feast on the full prix-fixed menu for $50 which includes appetizer, salad, entre and dessert. All of the guest chef menu items will be offered a la carte and the full Dragonfly menu will also be available. Reservations are strongly recommended.
