TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; A three-day Disabled Sports Far West event was chock full of sailing, canoeing, kayaking, tubing and dining at Donner Lake. Dave Ceruti, owner of Donner Lake Water Sports, donated two Sea-Doos for the event, as he has in past years. Donner Lake Water Sports also offers patio, fishing and ski boats, kayaks and pedal boats (530-582-1999). Another generous donor is Dave Shalvis, a Truckee family man who donates his ski boat for tubing. The three-day lake event is “a chance for able-bodied family and friends, everybody, to get out on the lake and play” according to Disabled Sports program director Cindy Smith. Thirty-six participants with physical or cognitive disabilities, local and from the Bay Area, went out to play.
