Disabled Sports USA Far West 21st Annual Foam Fest expands to Truckee location

TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; Foam Fest, one of the most highly anticipated local events of the year, kicks off the winter season at a new location and a new pre-party Brewers Dinner by gold medal chef Sean Conry.Beer enthusiasts will sample brews from more than 40 microbreweries on Saturday, Nov. 13 at the Disabled Sports USA Far West 21st annual Foam Fest at the Truckee Community Recreation Center in Truckee. This andamp;#8220;welcome to winter partyandamp;#8221; promises to be better than ever with local favorites the andamp;#8220;Dead Winter Carpentersandamp;#8221; returning from tour to bring their style of California roots music to the dance floor. The opportunity to pick up some winter swag is as endless as the supply of beer. The andamp;#8220;Hit the Slopesandamp;#8221; raffle will feature season passes from Squaw Valley USA, Alpine Meadows, Homewood, Sugar Bowl and Tahoe X-Country as well as items from other local retailers and brewers. Adding to the festivities is a pre-event Brew Master Specialty Tasting and Dinner, 5:30-7 p.m. Chef Sean Conry, a recent gold medal winner at 2010 Lake Tahoe Autumn Food andamp; Wine Festival for food pairing, will bring his concoctions to pair with selected microbrews. Several brew masters will be present to offer up their knowledge of beer and food pairing. Learn and drink with the best in the business. A limited number of tickets for the pre-event are available for $50 in advance. The main event runs 7-10:30 p.m. with admission $30 in advance and $35 at the door, which inclues a commemorative tasting glass. Food is available for purchase featuring pub specialties by Conry. The designated driver rate is $5.
