Downtown Truckee Wine Walk & Shop announces People’s Choice awards

TRUCKEE, Calif. — On Saturday Oct. 6, 2012, Switchback PR + Marketing hosted the ninth annual Downtown Truckee Wine, Walk & Shop. The event brought more than 1,000 people to historic downtown Truckee and raised money for the Family Resource Center of Truckee, the nonprofit beneficiary. After wine tasting, food sampling and shopping, guests were invited to vote on their favorite restaurant, shop and winery.This year, 42 merchants in downtown Truckee participated in the wine walk, making 2012 the biggest wine walk to date. Each shop featured one winery for tasting, with 19 food stops offering a food and wine pairing.When the votes were counted, Dragonfly flew to the top of the chart taking first place, with Trokay Caf following as a strong second. White Buffalo and The Niche tied for favorite shop. Participants chose Lucchesi Vineyards and Winery as the top winery with Rombauer a close runner up.
