Baby and Me
Join these fun and educational classes for parents and infants under 12 months old. Organized activities, health and child development education, and informal discussions. A new seven-week series for infants 3 months to walking is scheduled to begin Friday, Jan. 21, 10-11:15 a.m. at the Family Resource Center of Truckee, 11695 Donner Pass Road, Truckee.
Your Amazing Baby
Six-week series for parents and babies birth to 4 months old. Learn infant massage and deepen bond with baby. Massage helps baby with digestion and improves sleep and immune function. Understand infant cues, infant crying and learn to relax with your baby. The Series begins Monday, Jan. 24, 10-11:15 a.m. at the Family Resource Center of Truckee, 11695 Donner Pass Road, Truckee.
Parenting Discussion Group
Join parents with children birth to five for monthly Parenting Discussion Group. Utilizing current research, books and shared experience, find inspiration, increase knowledge and gain new parenting tools. These meetings are parent-driven and free of charge. The first meeting of 2011 will be held Thursday, Jan. 20 at the Family Resource Center of Truckee, 11695 Donner Pass Road, Truckee. Group is finishing with and#8220;Nurture Shockand#8221; and beginning and#8220;Raising Happinessand#8221; by Christine Carter.
Loving Solutions Parenting Series-
This seven-week, research-based, parenting series is for parents of children 4-10 years old. Join for education and tips to help build parenting skills through easy techniques. Utilizing a workbook format, group interaction and home activities, parents may start using tools at home after the first session. Begins Monday, Jan. 24, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Offered in English and another in Spanish. Locations to be announced. The Parent Project Series for parents of children 11-18 will be offered Thursdays beginning Jan. 27.
Play and learn in The Family Room at Truckee Elementary
Mondays and Thursdays, 9 a.m.-noon and Fridays, 9-10:30 a.m. Free activities for parents and children under 5. Art, stories music and developmental play. Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9 a.m.-noon bilingual activities are offered.
Family Music with Todd Wees
Join local troubadour for the Todd Wees Music Experience. You and your 0-5-aged children will enjoy high-spirited sing and dance-along music. The seven-week series will be held in The Family Room at Truckee Elementary beginning Friday, Jan. 21, 10:30-11:15 a.m.
