TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. – With what everyone in the Truckee-Tahoe Community hopes to be a snowy winter, it is extremely important to be physically prepared. Ryan Egan and the trainers at Rebel Fitness Academy in Truckee understand the importance of winter sports preparation and will host an “8-Week Kettlebell Conditioning Program” starting Tuesday, Oct. 16 (excluding Thanksgiving week). Classes will meet each week at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursdays, addressing cardio, strength and athleticism – areas to help with explosiveness, endurance and injury prevention.

-“Used properly, kettlebells are the fastest way to tone, tighten and strengthen. We are dedicated to unlocking the explosive athletic potential in every individual through precision functional training,” said Rebel Fitness Academy owner Ryan Egan, a winter sports athlete who has suffered numerous injuries and through kettlebell conditionin appropriately trains for winter.

The Rebel Fitness 8-Week Winter Conditioning Program will be capped off with a “Kettlebell Swing-a-Thon” on Dec. 15. Only trained individuals and participants in the “8-Week Kettlebell Conditioning Program” will be eligible to compete in the “Kettlebell Swing-a-Thon” as proper technique is a prerequisite to promote safety. The event will be 12 hours, and participants will gather pledges on a “per swing” basis, or as a flat donation with proceeds going to the High Fives Non-Profit Foundation. Great prizes will be awarded to participants who raise the most funds, and to those who end up with the most swings in the 12-hour period.

“Nothing brings me more joy than working with a like-minded organization focused on regaining the passion for individuals who have had it taken away as the cause of a tragic event,” said Egan. “I believe Rebel Fitness Academy can teach preventative methods, ultimately cutting down on injuries, while promoting High Fives Foundation’s mission.”

Cost is $149 for the eight-week program (two classes per week, 16 total classes). To schedule, contact Rebel Fitness Academy at info@rebelfitnessacademy or 530-550-7777.
