To me, a quality education system is a cornerstone of a healthy, thriving community.-A key factor in the quality of our school system is the caliber of our school board. With a visionary school board, comprised of members who hold a shared vision of excellence and a commitment to problem solving, I truly believe we can become the incredible school district we all wish to be.
My friend Bill Kraus is running for school board. I have worked closely with Bill on a number of local education initiatives and activities over the past few years. He is bright, thoughtful and truly cares about the children of our community. And more importantly, he has devoted countless hours to improving our schools. Bill will make an excellent board member with a simple goal of improving the quality of education.
While I may not agree with him on every issue, I am confident that Bill will devote the time needed to understand challenges, seek all points of view, think creatively to build consensus, and work with other board members to make the decisions needed to take our district to the next level.
Sometimes it is easy to feel jaded about elections and how much impact our vote can actually have. But in a local election like this, every vote matters support can make a difference. We truly have an opportunity here to make a significant positive impact on our school district. That is why I am voting for Bill Kraus for school board.
I am compelled to write to express my support to Ray Shine in his campaign for judge and encourage others to vote for him. He is truly a fine example of an honest, fair, ethical, contributing member of the community. Ray’s ability to listen with compassion and interest while utilizing his keen mind will allow him to make the right decisions. He is a devoted family man who deserves to serve the community where he has lived his whole life.

I had the pleasure of serving with Ray Shine on our church vestry and witnessed firsthand his dedication to his family and Nevada County and his knowledge of the law. I think he would be a superior Superior Court Judge. Please join me in voting for him Nov. 7.
