Evening Leave No Trace Family Hike from Tahoe City

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. and#8212; The Tahoe Rim Trail Association, the Leave No Trace Center for Ethics and Tahoe Mountain Sports is teaming up for a fun and interactive Evening Leave No Trace Family Hike on Wednesday, July 6, 4-6 p.m. from the Tahoe City North Trailhead. Directions to the trailhead will be provided upon registration for the hike.

Registration for this hike is available on the Tahoe Rim Trail Association web site at http://www.tahoerimtrail.org. This short hike will be full of fun Leave No Trace activities for all ages led by the Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers.- All three organizations will provide prizes for drawings and take-home gifts. Please bring water, a bagged dinner for your family, and wear comfortable hiking clothes. This hike will not be longer than 4 miles.-

Leave No Trace, a concept conceived by the USDA Forest Service in the 1960s, became a nonprofit organization in 1994 and now reaches millions of Americans and dozens of countries each year with minimum impact training, educational tools and information on how to and#8220;Leave No Traceand#8221; in both the backcountry and front-country.

The Tahoe Rim Trail Association exists to maintain and enhance the legendary 165-mile Tahoe Rim Trail and encourages stewardship through volunteer programs, educational outreach and community partnerships. TRTA staff and volunteers inspire trail users to adhere to the Leave No Trace principles, with responsible outdoor recreation and a well-maintained trail system that keep foot and bike traffic off sensitive terrain.
