Excellence in Education to host annual recognition event at Squaw Valley USA
TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212;-The Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation will honor a host of dedicated volunteers, generous donors, exceptional teachers and district employees at its annual recognition event slated for Thursday, Sept. 22, 5-8:30 p.m. at the Squaw Valley Olympic Valley Lodge.
and#8220;We could not provide much-needed financial support to our schools without the help of our loyal donors and community supporters and our children would not excel without the influence of so many wonderful teachers,and#8221; said Ann Delforge, president of the Excellence in Education Foundation board. and#8220;This event is our way of recognizing many of the truly remarkable people who tirelessly support our kids and schools.and#8221;
The event honors foundation donors, the Linda Brown Fellows and Star Support Award recipients. The Linda Brown Fellows Awards recognize district teachers who go above and beyond in fulfilling their potential as an educator, show exceptional merit or talent, provide truly outstanding academic programs, and are extraordinarily innovative, and creative. The Star Awards recognize classified employees who also go above and beyond in fulfilling their positions, make a positive difference, and provide truly outstanding support.
Attendees to this yearand#8217;s event will be treated to a performance by the Truckee High School Jazz Band, as well as appetizers, a no-host bar and grant recipient displays. Tickets are $30 per person. For the second year, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage is generously underwriting the costs of this event.
