TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; On Memorial Day weekend, 17-year-old Taylor Fiddyment went camping with friends. While she was riding her quad she had an accident. The quad rolled over onto her back and damaged her spine. She was immediately transported to Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nev. Back surgery was performed the next day and she is currently in a back cast and doctors do not expect her to walk again. After two weeks at Renown, Taylor was transferred to Shrinerandamp;#8217;s Childrenandamp;#8217;s Hospital for rehabilitation. There, Taylor went through exhausting physical therapy and rehabilitation learning how to get herself out of bed, get in and out of her wheel chair and maneuver with her new andamp;#8220;wheels.andamp;#8221;Taylor returned home July 5 and will return to Shrinerandamp;#8217;s in Sacramento for additional rehab.Admission, food, raffle and silent auction proceeds at the Play 4 Tay benefit will help raise funds for equipment insurance will not cover, including but not limited to an electrical stimulation bicycle, standing frame, and hand-control adaptation device for automobile operation.
