Fill a family with ‘Holiday Hope’

Special to the Sun

TAHOE, Calif. –In the Lake Tahoe area, we are surrounded by the beauty of nature. However, the nature of our predominantly vacation-based economy leaves some families going without during the holidays. You can be part of the solution to this problem.

Holiday Hope, the North Lake Family Resource Center and Tahoe SAFE Alliance sponsored program, provides help for North Lake Tahoe area families who face economic challenges, job loss or unexpected hardships. You can participate by adopting a family and providing clothing, toys, and food to create a happy holiday season for them. Groups of friends or co-workers can join together and adopt a family. You choose the family size, amount of your donation, and the gifts that you will buy from the family’s list of needs.

Last year, 94 local families were given hope during a holiday season when they otherwise would have gone without. Open your heart and become a donor for this cause. Become a part of Holiday Hope 2012 by calling Ana Liz Servin-Bancroft at the North Lake Family Resource Center, 530-546-0952. She will be happy to give you more details and match you with a family.
