Flyandamp;#8211;bys and face paints to be featured at Air Fair andamp; Family Festival
TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; The Truckee Tahoe Airport will soar to new heights with its announcement of the 2012 Inaugural Truckee Tahoe Air Fair andamp; Family Festival. The Air Fair Committee, sponsors and volunteers plan to re-ignite the passion for aviation exploration and all-day family fun. The last air shows to be held at the Airport were from 1974-1996. On July 7, 2012, 7 a.m.-4 p.m. fair and festival attendees will be awed by periodic fly-bys; static aircraft displays; pilot docents; hot air balloons (weather permitting); free Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 1073 Young Eagle flights for kids ages 8 to 17; live music; kids activities; a food court, beer garden, souvenir and craft vendors and much more family fun.Scheduled to be on display are a variety of aircraft from military, experimental and general aviation. Several of the original Tuskegee Airmen will attend as Grand Marshalls. There will also be an array of other displays and events geared toward family fun.The Truckee Tahoe Air Fair is looking for interesting aircraft to put on static display in addition to vendors.
