Foam Fest to brew up good times for good cause
TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; Foam Fest, one of the most highly anticipated events of the year, kicks off the winter season at the Community Recreation Center with brew tasting and another amazing gourmet Beer Pairing Dinner by gold medal chef Sean Conry. Beer enthusiasts will sample brews from more than 40 microbreweries Saturday, Oct. 15 at Disabled Sports USA Far Westandamp;#8217;s 22nd annual Foam Fest. This andamp;#8220;get ready for winter partyandamp;#8221; promises to be better than ever with music by alternative rock band Marble Party out of Mill Valley, Calif. The opportunity to pick up winter swag is as endless as the beer supply. The andamp;#8220;Hit the Slopesandamp;#8221; raffle will feature season passes from Squaw Valley USA, Alpine Meadows, Homewood, Sugar Bowl and Tahoe X-Country as well as items from other local retailers and brewers. Adding to the festivities again this year is a Gourmet Beer Pairing Five Course Dinner starting at 5:30 p.m. Chef Sean Conry, a recent gold medal winner at the 2010 Lake Tahoe Autumn Food and Wine Festival, will bring his tasty concoctions to pair with selected microbrews. There will be several brew masters present offering up their knowledge of beer and food pairing. Learn and drink with the best in the business. A limited number of tickets are available for $65 in advance. The main event runs from 7-10:30 p.m. with admission $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Food will be available for purchase featuring specialties by Full Belly Deli. All who attend will received a commemorative tasting glass. A special designated driver rate of $5 is available.
