Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation
Supporting the Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation is a tasty proposition Friday, Sept. 16, 5:30-9 p.m. at lovely Lake Mary, just a few minutes outside of Truckee on Donner Summit. Hosted by Sugar Bowl Ski Resort, diners may select from a great menu that features everything from grilled chicken linguini pasta to lobster tail and Manila clam boil. The Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation is a private, nonprofit corporation supporting excellence in local schools by creating a partnership between the business community and the studentsand#8217; future. The Foundation raises money and provides grants, resources and partnerships to benefit students and teachers grades kindergarten through 12. The fundraising programs and#8212; Skiing for Schools, Dining for Schools and Golfing for Schools and#8212; are completely underwritten by local business partners.

On Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 6 p.m., the Truckee Donner Historical Society is hosting their Annual Membership Dinner at The Lodge Restaurant and Pub in Tahoe Donner, 12850 Northwoods Blvd., Truckee.
It will be an elegant evening of spectacular food and wine. Event coordinator Don Colclough has selected a menu that will delight all. A scrumptious surprise dessert will be provided by Linda Beeghly, who is known for making elaborate masterpieces as delicious as they are artful.
No host cocktails at the pub 6 p.m., dinner served at 6:30 p.m.
Dinner includes a glass of wine, Ceasar salad and dessert. Choose from the following entrees: vegetarian pasta, $30; roasted Rocky Junior chicken, $33; salmon, $40; tri tip $36. Make your entree selection, and check payable to T.D.H.S., P.O. BOX 893, Truckee, CA 96160, no later than Sept. 17.
