Forest plan will impact all

Tim Ewers, Homewood

Do you hike, bike, camp, fish, ski, hunt, snowmobile, motorcycle ride, snowshoe, use your SUV or even bird watch in our National Forest? Don’t think the Sierra Framework Forest Plan Amendment will affect you? Wrong. Current language contained in the framework will have a huge impact on all of the above user groups. Hiking, biking, skiing and bird watching have been shown to disturb wildlife much worse than motorized vehicles, primitive campsites will have to go, along with many motorized and non-motorized roads and trails, fishing and hunting. Your access and sport will be heavily restricted. Snowmobilers, bikers and 4-wheelers are toast, as much as the language in the SNFC appears to be directly aimed at you and your access.

If you have respiratory problems you might want to move to a less polluted environment, like L.A. The amount of new forest overgrowth that must eventually burn will pollute the air in the Sierra like never seen before. Last year’s record-setting forest fire devastation up north from intense wildfires is nothing compared to what must burn in order to create the pre-European forest condition so sought after by the Sierra Club and their allies. So, before you sign up with the billion dollar environmental conflict industry to “Save the Forest,” please do your own research, you will find you are not getting the whole story.
