Gateway Urgent Care in Truckee now offering non-surgical cosmetic procedures
TRUCKEE, Calif. – Dr. Dennis Chez, medical director of Gateway Urgent Care in Truckee has recently become certified in aesthetic medicine for primary care physicians. Dr. Chez, in addition to offering acute care medicine and general family health care, will now be offering non-surgical cosmetic procedures including BOTOX Cosmetic injections, and dermal fillers including Restylane and Juvederm.
BOTOX Cosmetic has become the most popular injectable cosmetic enhancement procedure in the U.S. Less invasive than a facelift and other surgical options, BOTOX injections are designed to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles in the face and give facial features a smoother, more refreshed appearance.
As we age, muscles in the face begin to contract, ultimately forming wrinkles and fine lines. BOTOX Cosmetic temporarily relaxes facial muscles and prevents them from contracting, leaving the area smooth and wrinkle-free. Dr. Chez uses a fine gauge needle to inject BOTOX Cosmetic into the areas targeted for wrinkle reduction – with results often almost immediately visible. A BOTOX Cosmetic procedure typically takes about 30 minutes or less at Gateway Urgent Care, and there is no “downtime” afterward.
Most people who are candidates for BOTOX can also benefit from dermal fillers. Dr. Chez can recommend an injectable treatment for each patient’s specific goals.
Dermal fillers not only reverse the signs of aging, but also enhance the appearance and fullness of lips, contour and restore volume to the skin, and temporarily eliminate wrinkles and facial folds. These non-animal, biotechnology-produced, crystal-clear, biodegradable gels are hyaluronic acid substances normally found in the skin. Each is injected through a tiny needle to produce a long-lasting, safe and natural enhancement.
Many people discover that dermal fillers are perfect for their needs. While BOTOX can only improve wrinkles caused by movement of facial muscles, dermal fillers can improve a wider variety of wrinkles and creases, such as nasolabial folds (parentheses), smile lines, and lip lines. In addition to wrinkle reduction, dermal fillers may also be used for gentle facial sculpting. They can add volume to features such as the nose, cheeks and lips.
Dr. Chez believes in tailoring the procedure to the clients’ personal needs. That is why Gateway Urgent Care offers a variety of dermal fillers including Restylane and Juvederm. The effects of these fillers typically last six to eight months or longer.
