Gifts for Good: Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation and the Sierra Sun launch the eighth annual giving program

TAHOE/TRUCKEE and#8212; Want to help battered women, support the environment, protect animals and promote arts in our community all at once?-

Gifts for Good is a campaign sponsored by Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation in partnership with the Sierra Sun to raise money for local nonprofit organizations.

Hereand#8217;s how it works. You make a tax-deductible donation to Gifts for Good for any amount and#8212; whether it is $5 or $500,000. Your donation will be promptly acknowledged and pooled with donations from many other donors. Then, beginning in January 2011, any nonprofit organization in Truckee North Tahoe can apply for a grant.

and#8220;The role of TTCF is to make it easy for people to give to nonprofit organizations in the region,and#8221; said Lisa Dobey, TTCFand#8217;s CEO. and#8220;TTCF has a committee of community volunteers who screen every application to make sure organizations are able to use your gifts effectively and efficiently. TTCF has never made a grant to a local organization where we have not met with representatives: We know the nonprofit community and their needs and desires.and#8221;

There are several ways to donate to Gifts for Good: Visit, mail a check to TTCF, P.O. Box 366, Truckee, CA 96160, or stop by the TTCF office, 11071 Donner Pass Road, Truckee, next to NAPA Auto Parts.

and#8220;We will publish a list of contributors to the campaign at the end of the year. I hope that we will see the name of every single person in Truckee North Tahoe on that list,and#8221; said Dobey. and#8220;These gifts will benefit our nonprofit community and enhance all of our lives.and#8221;
