Girls on the Run: LUNAFEST and Halloween Fun Run fun and fundraising events

OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. and#8212; Girls on the Run Sierras will present the LUNAFEST National Touring Film Festival, featuring award-winning short films by, for and about women Saturday, Oct. 23, 6 p.m. at the Olympic Village Lodge at Squaw Valley. This special fundraiser will be held in conjunction with the Women’s Wellness Weekend hosted at the Village at Squaw, Oct. 23-24.

Tickets for the film festival are $49 each in advance or $55 at the door and include wine tasting from five California wineries, delicious food samplings from various Village venues including Mamasake, Fireside Pizza, Bistro 22, Soupa and High Camp.

Remember your checkbook, as there will be a silent and live auction including treasures such as Bio Bio Expeditions and#8212; a multisport adventure trip to Patagonia, a Squaw Valley season pass, a High Sierra Gold Ski Pass and much more.-

Celebrate Halloween with a community fun run/walk Oct. 31. The New Balance 5K Fun Run is open to the community and#8212; all boys, girls, women and men who want to run or walk their way to the finish line of a 5K (3.1 mile) fun run.
