Good Morning Truckee to discuss Donner museum status, mountain history

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The Sept. 11 Good Morning Truckee will hear from two speakers at Truckee Town Hall. Scott Elliott, supervising ranger, Lake Sector/Sierra District will provide an update on the progress of the new museum building and other news from Donner Memorial State Park.

Derek Larson, a Sierra College professor since 2000, outdoor adventure guide and naturalist since 1988 will present the and#8220;Birth of the Tahoe Sierra.and#8221; The forces that built the mountains and Lake Tahoe, what makes the lake so unique and the threat of tsunamis will be discussed.

Good Morning Truckee is a community forum presented by the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce to provide timely and relevant information on a variety of topics and create a networking opportunity.

Good Morning Truckee is open to the public, held the second Tuesday of every month, 7-8:30 a.m. Price at the door is $10; Truckee Donner Chamber members $8 and includes a continental breakfast.
