Grants available from community foundation
Staff reportsTuesday, Jan. 18 is the closing date for grant applications to be considered for funding during the winter 2005 grant cycle at the Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation. TTCF provides grants in seven areas of interest: arts and culture, civic and public benefit, education, environment, conservation and animal welfare, health and human services, recreation, and youth development.Priority is given to requests for capacity building, basic organization needs, and projects creating a positive effect on the community and to requests from organizations having the capacity for success.Assistance is available in writing proposals. Call Phebe Bell at 587-1776. Bell will also discuss any ideas you might have for possible funding.Applications are available by picking them up at the TTCF office, 10607 W. River St., bldg. 1, suite D, by visiting the community foundation Web site at http://www.ttcf.net, by requesting one via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 587-1776. The grants committee reviews each application, makes site visits and interviews each applicant. Turn around time is approximately six weeks.Completed applications must be returned to the TTCF office by 5 p.m. on Jan. 18.
