TAHOE CITY, Calif. andamp;#8212; What could be a happier sight than Santa cruising to town on North Tahoe Fire Protection Districtandamp;#8217;s Tahoe City engine? The gleeful, glowing faces of 500 children lining the street when he arrives at the Rotary Club of Tahoe City Santaandamp;#8217;s Family Play Day.The 12th annual event will be held Dec. 11, noon-4 p.m. at Granlibakken Ski Area, just west of Tahoe City. Children ages preschool to 9-years -old are invited to spend the day frolicking to North Tahoe High School Jazz band tunes, singing Christmas carols, munching on complementary hot dogs and cookies and warming up with hot chocolate and cider.andamp;#8220;Wholesale Resort Association donates new mittens, scarves and hats for the children,andamp;#8221; said Rotarian and event organizer John Eichhorn. andamp;#8220;We give them away to the children every year, which is wonderful.andamp;#8221;The Rotary Club of Tahoe City spends about $3,000 each year on the event, which includes a free present for each child.Thanks to the generosity of the Rotary, Tahoe-Truckee lumber, The Store andamp;#8230; Copes andamp; More!, Geared for Games, Granlibakken Ski Area and Wholesale Resort Association, the event will be a signature goodwill event.For information, call Eichhorn at 530-546-5650.
