TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Don’t let it be said Truckee residents don’t care about the Truckee Donner Senior Apartment residents.
Again this year, the special elves have done their magic: From trees to gifts and food baskets, even in these hard financial times, the spirit of giving has shone brightly. I am totally humbled by the response from our generous donors.
So, to all who contributed, granting more than 55 requests, I thank you. I also send out a very big thank you to all who helped distribute the gifts and#8230; from Police Chief Sensely, and his officers and#8230; with a special and#8220;thank you and a get welland#8221; to Sherrie and Barbara Jakeco for their help making sure the pets weren’t forgotten. Also, special thanks goes to the and#8220;Vice Squad,and#8221; for their enthusiastic help in delivering presents and to Brett and Kailin Russon along with Kelsey Shaw.
I also would like to thank the fire department for their help in delivering Santa and their joyous laughter.
A very special thanks goes to Santa and his helpers, Jamie Brimer from Truckee Sunrise Rotary and Frank and Dan as well for the music. Your spirits have helped make this a wonderful experience for me and#8230; thank you.
And lastly and#8230; I want to thank one very special elf, and#8220;Mr. Sparky,and#8221; without you this year wouldn’t have been so merry. Now go play a round of golf and Lydia thanks for putting up with our insanity.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays.
