Homewood Patrol Race and Taco Dinner set for March 6

HOMEWOOD, Calif. andamp;#8212; Part competition, part party, part West Shore gathering, the Homewood Patrol Race andamp; Taco Dinner is a time-honored tradition at Homewood Mountain Resort. This yearandamp;#8217;s event, scheduled for Tuesday, March 6, 6-10 p.m. at the mountainandamp;#8217;s North Lodge, marks the 30th annual presentation. Professional patrol teams from all Tahoe area mountains gather annually to race under the lights in front of the Homewood North Lodge through a dual giant slalom course for a shot at the title as well as bragging rights. Some competitors consider the Patrol Race a serious, competitive event; while others don elaborate costumes, as well as makeshift ski or snowboard equipment. At the end of the evening, one team leaves with the trophy. Free to spectators, the Homewood Patrol Race and Taco Dinner is also one of Tahoeandamp;#8217;s most highly-anticipated social happenings. Locals and visitors alike can look forward to the all-ages festive atmosphere at the North Lodge base area, complete with DJ music broadcast from the Red Bull MXT – a van which has been converted to the ultimate sound machine. The taco dinner offers beef soft tacos, beans and rice, salad and dessert for $10 per plate, and the North Lodge bar will offer a full selection of adult libations as well as soft drinks.
