Staff reportsThere will be a Veterans Day service on Friday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Eagle Monument at the downtown Truckee train depot.The service will include a Veterans Day prayer, color guard presentation and a time for veterans and family of veterans to speak.”We want to thank all the people who are serving their country both overseas and here,” said Ken Meyer, Veterans of Foreign Wars post commander.Nov. 11 is the anniversary of the armistice that ended World War I in 1918.For more information on the VFW, go to http://www.vfw.org.
