Hospice volunteer training offered in Truckee and Portola

TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Enrich someoneand#8217;s life by providing companionship and support with daily activities as a Hospice volunteer. Tahoe Forest Hospice offers 25 hour training sessions in October. Volunteers are needed in Truckee, North Lake Tahoe and Portola, Graeagle, Loyalton and Sierraville. Hospice volunteers assist patients and their family members by providing respites for the primary caregiver; handling errands and shopping; providing companionship along with friendship; helping with meals, gardening, reading and playing games with the patient. Volunteers will have flexible hours. New Hospice Volunteer Training will take place Oct. 20, 22 and 25, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. All sessions must be completed in order to graduate.
