CRYSTAL BAY, Nev. — This week’s question: How concerned are you of a wildfire starting in or near the greater Tahoe-Truckee region?

Here are this week’s responses, as asked Monday in Crystal Bay:

Joyce Valdes, retired, Kings Beach: “I think we all should be concerned and do our part to prevent it. It’s a concern of everyone’s.”

John Robidoux, construction worker, Kings Beach: “It definitely could happen at any time. They did get rid of all the groundcover. (But) the trees are starving, so you never know what could happen.”

Nonie Stockon, Tahoe Biltmore employee, Kings Beach: “It’s always a danger, but it’s pretty scary with the lack of water and the drought itself. I’m highly concerned.”

Ed Granzow , planning director for consulting, Brockway: “I’m concerned. The measures they’ve taken are as much as we can do, but we are in a high fuel-time and … zone, and it’s not something to be taken lightly.”
