Inaugural Sky Tavern film festival to benefit youth skiing

RENO, NEV. and#8212; Winter is coming to summer July 30, 4-8:30 p.m. when Sky Tavern hosts its first annual Sky Tavern Film Festival, an Artown event.

STFF was created as a fundraising event to raise money for Sky Tavern, a nonprofit program that gives youth in the Reno and Tahoe area a chance to learn how to ski and snowboard. The proceeds from the festival will be donated to help Sky Tavern provide scholarships and insure every child has the opportunity to learn the sport of skiing or snowboarding.

Having local artists in mind, STFF encourages photographers and filmmakers to participate in the festival by submitting their work. The festival will be held at the Sky Tavern Lodge, 21130 Mt. Rose Highway), presenting chair life rides, Alaskan Brewery beer, music entertainment, a zip line, vendors and more! Tickets will be $5 at the door and will include one Alaskan beer and access to all the entertainment.
