January dance was fun for all

Prosser Creek Charter School Dance Committee

The recent Prosser Creek Charter School Middle School “January Jazz” dance was a great success. It was held at the Truckee Community Center.

In continuing community outreach, endeavoring to establish and maintain friendships between students in different schools, PCCS students were encouraged to invite friends from other schools. The dance was enthusiastically attended by 7th and 8th grade students from PCCS, Sierra Mountain Middle School, North Tahoe Intermediate School and Squaw Valley Academy.

The kids demonstrated their techniques in swing, cha cha, hip hop, and waltz. Truckee’s eminent McCarthys livened up the dance floor, performing their famous swing dancing. The PCCS swing dance group were exceptional in their skill and enthusiasm. Several parents and adult chaperones also tried their dance moves. There were dance lessons, games, fruit, chips and dips, drinks, and tons of fun.

Thanks to those who attended for making the dance such a success. Watch for future fun happenings.
