Jazzercise class will benefit Zachary Hanham

A Jazzercize Master Class Benefit for Zachary Hanham will be held on Sunday, Oct. 29 at the Truckee-Donner Recreation and Park District community center from 9-10:30 a.m.

Three-year-old Zachary Hanham is a local lymphoma patient who has been the beneficiary of several benefits in the Truckee area recently.

Zachary has Lymphoblastic Lymphoma with a 9:22 split of the chromosome, also known as Philadelphia Chromosome Syndrome. This is an extremely rare form of leukemia and the last known diagnosed case was 15 years ago.

Refreshments and prizes will be available at Sunday’s benefit class.

The grand prize, donated by Vacation Advantage, is one full week for four in Orlando for Christmas from Dec. 23-30, air fare not included. Second prize was donated by Ingrid and is a pearl necklace with a pendant and earrings. Third prize was donated by Susan Dorwart and is a personalized ceramic bowl.

Raffle tickets are on sale for $1 or six for $5. Participants don’t need to be present to win. The Rec Center is accepting donations of $10 for the class. For details, call Susan Dorwart at 582-8852 or Jeanie McCarthy at 587-4841.
