Meet like-minded women while you enjoy wine, light refreshments and natural Ener-Treats made locally by Kaili Sanchez, owner of Kaili’s Creative Kitchen. To add fuel to the fire, 13-year Truckee resident Susie Sutphin will be in the house, providing inspirational stories from her years in the field. Suzie’s careers have taken her from “Couloir” magazine to Patagonia Clothing and later the Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival. The films inspired her to explore building a smarter and more equitable food system, and she has since collected her discoveries about sustainable and regional food systems on her blog, http://www.foodchronicles.net.When not enjoying a good meal with friends, you’ll find Susie out exploring the Sierra Nevada backcountry either on snow, dirt or rock. Her current big adventure is starting Tahoe Food Hub, a nonprofit that will source regional food and make more ecological eats available to the North Lake Tahoe community. Susie will share photos, stories, advice and regrets, to entice us all to be healthier, more active and more involved.Enjoy shopping, mingling, food and wine, 5:30-6:30 p.m.; slideshow presentation with question and answers, 6:30-7:30 p.m.; and from 7:30-8 p.m. the raffle and more wine!Proceeds from Ladies Night will benefit Tahoe Food Hub.
