TRUCKEE and#8212; Coffeebar, Truckeeand#8217;s Italian-style coffee house and eatery, is hosting a new monthly community event series called and#8220;rEVOLution,and#8221; beginning tonight.

The rEVOLution event series is designed to create and inspire change in our local community and beyond by providing education and perspective on some of the important issues plaguing todayand#8217;s society, and inspiration and insight into potential ways to combat these issues and create positive change.

Each month, Coffeebar will focus its event on a new innovative idea or controversial issue, designed to enable participants to open their minds, increase their awareness, change their perspective, strategize change, and ultimately revolutionize their world.

Events will feature documentaries, short film clips, panel and/or and#8216;expertand#8217; presentations, group discussions and/or community interactions, with the goal to ultimately start affecting change locally based on what weand#8217;ve learned. Topics will range from environment, to food sources, to energy needs, to economy, and beyond and#8230; there are no limitations.

The goal of Coffeebarand#8217;s interactive rEVOLution event is to not only talk about potential solutions, but to create action. Each event will focus on creating a feasible action plan based on participant input, and inspiring that action to take place.

Each monthly event will have a respective community beneficiary. Costs will vary by event, but in each case all proceeds will go to the selected community partner, to be used for causes associated with the topic of the evening.

The inaugural event will take place from 7-11 p.m. today, Feb. 21, and is free of charge. As an and#8216;All-encompassingand#8217; introduction, this event will feature a series of short clips covering a range of important topics. Coffeebarand#8217;s goal for this first event is that you will gain a new perspective on some of todayand#8217;s important issues, and new insight and inspiration on ways that you can starts revolutionizing your community. The event will be followed by a live DJ performance.
