KidZone thrift store finds home

Staff reportsThe KidZone’s resale boutique is nearly ready for shoppers.The Treasure Chest, to be located at 12030 Donner Pass Road across from the outlet mall, will offer used children’s clothing, equipment and furniture, as well as a selection of maternity clothing and new items, such as locally made dolls and birthday gifts.”It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally full circle,” said Kristi Darzynkiewicz, director of the project. “It’s crazy trying to get this store off the ground, but we have overwhelming support from the community that really warms my heart.”The store will be staffed by volunteers. The store will help fund the KidZone’s operating costs.The KidZone has fingers crossed for a President’s Day weekend opening, though Darzynkiewicz said that more donations are still needed.
