Ladies, take your turns in the backcountry

TAHOE CITY, Calif. and#8212; Are you a woman who likes to backcountry ski or ride? Yes? Well then, meet other women just like yourself. Alpenglow Sports in Tahoe City is hosting an evening for women to gather, connect, network, share stories, talk gear and shop.

This will be an evening for women of all ability levels who love the backcountry to gather, drink some wine, nosh a bit and win fun prizes while networking with like-minded backcountry partners. and#8220;It’s a chance to get inspired,and#8221; said event organizer Whitney Foel. and#8220;When I go out with other women, we’re more adventurous, making our own decisions, it’s empowering. When we are in charge of ourselves, we become the leaders.and#8221; Foel said the backcountry offers a unique experience, away from the hustle and bustle. It’s an opportunity to be respectful, quiet and peaceful in nature. And, naturally, there are the fresh tracks. and#8220;That’s really what we’re doing out there,and#8221; said Foel.

Join them at Alpenglow Sports, 415 North Lake Blvd., Sunnyside-Tahoe City, Wednesday, Nov. 30, 6:30-8 p.m. This is a free event and all ages and abilities are welcome. Depending on popularity, this may turn into a series of women in the backcountry events.
