Lake of the Sky Garden Club announces annual tour

TAHOE, Calif. and#8212; Lake of the Sky Garden Club will host their 24th annual event, the North Shore Garden Tour, from Tahoe City to Brockway on Saturday, July 28, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. View up to 10 gardens including three lakefront properties. Light refreshments will be served. Tickets are $25 per person and may be purchased by mailing a check or money order to Lake of Sky Garden Club, P.O. Box 1827, Tahoe City, CA 96145 or by contacting Rich Caravelli at 530-583-4066 or Tickets may also be purchased at local nurseries. This event has been a sellout and#8212; be sure and get your tickets early.

Lake of the Sky Garden Club is a nonprofit organization and member of National Garden Clubs Inc. and California Garden Clubs, Inc., Golden Foothills District. The cluband#8217;s goals are to promote an interest in gardening with particular emphasis on the problems at high altitude, to support charitable, educational, and scientific work as well as to initiate and participate in beautification and development gardening projects in the North Lake Tahoe region. Each year the proceeds from the tour fund one or two $1,000 scholarships to encourage study in landscaping, horticulture, forestry or environmental science and up to $7,000 in grants to community projects such as Thunderbird Lodge, Tahoe City Historical Society, the Watson Cabin, Gatekeeperand#8217;s Museum as well as Community Gardens in the Tahoe Truckee area.
