TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Buy tickets now for the upcoming Lake of the Sky Garden Cluband#8217;s 23rd annual Lake Tahoe Garden Tour featuring eight fascinating gardens in the historic town of Truckee, July 30, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tickets sell out quickly, and may not be available at the gate on the day of the tour.

The gardens include a stunning perennial lakefront garden on Donner Lake (photo) and a carefully tended Victorian garden gem in the historic downtown area. You will experience some remarkable gardens hidden away throughout the town of Truckee, from one end to the other.

Stroll leisurely through the lovely gardens on this self guided tour. Or travel by bike. You will discover a relaxing day of unhurried visual splendor. Light refreshments will be served at one of the gardens.



Last yearand#8217;s tour of Lake Tahoeand#8217;s West Shore gardens completely sold out at 500 tickets the week before the tour. Attend this yearand#8217;s tour benefiting public gardens and providing educational scholarships for Lake Tahoe area students in the fields of landscaping, horticulture and environmental science.

Lake of the Sky Garden Cluband#8217;s goals are to promote an interest in gardening, with particular emphasis on the problems at high altitude, to support charitable, educational, and scientific works, as well as to initiate and participate in beautification and developmental gardening projects in the North Tahoe region.



The club has donated tens of thousands of dollars in the past to recipients including Thunderbird Lodge, North Lake Tahoe Historical Society, Watson Cabin, Gatekeeperand#8217;s Museum, Ehrman Mansion/Pine Lodge, Truckee Hospice, Truckee Cemetery, UC Davis Tahoe City Fish Hatchery (Eriksson Education Center), Girl Scouts, Project MANA and Penny Pines as well as local colleges, Community Gardens and libraries.

Lake of the Sky Garden Club is a nonprofit organization with 76 members. Sharon Gay is past president and historian of the Club.

The club is a member of National Garden Clubs, Inc., Pacific Region, and California Garden Clubs, Inc., Golden Foothills District.
