TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Lake Tahoe Yarn Company will be accepting donations for the E Company, 310th Combat Aviation Battalion in Afghanistan. Owner Kelly Hechingerand#8217;s son-in-law, Spec. Edward Breeden is this Squad. He will make sure his squad gets first dibs and then will share anything in surplus with other squads in his Battalion. Find following approved items for shipping: Coffee, hot chocolate packets, herbal teas, beef and turkey jerky, Slim Jims, pretzels, sunflower seeds, Chex mix, Wheat thins, Cheetos, gum, hard candy, granola bars, small packs of Oreos, Cheese-its and Fig Newtons, tuna in foil pouches (no cans), nuts (salted), microwave popcorn, Fruit by the Foot, dried fruit, fruit roll ups, instant drink mixes, cheese/peanut butter and cracker packets, instant oatmeal (individual packs), Rice Crispie Treats (store bought). Also baby wipes, eye drops, shampoo and conditioner and deodorant (travel size), Band-Aids, baby powder, foot powder, tissues, chap stick, cotton swabs, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hand lotion, breath mints, sun screen, bug spray, cough drops, Moleskin, feminine hygiene products, multi vitamins, Frisbies, hackey sacks, playing cards, crossword puzzles, Mad Libs, word search books, Sudoku. No baked goods, but, you can knit them anything. Hats, mittens, fingerless mittens, scarves, socks, anything that would make them feel a bit closer to home. They can use these things on their days off and in their barracks. There are three girls in this squad. So pink is not a bad thing. Just pick up one thing on your next trip to the store and Hechinger will make sure it makes it to Afghanistan.
