Learn about Nevada wine making at the The American Association of University Women general meeting

TAHOE CITY, Calif. and#8212; The American Association of University Women general meeting will be held Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, 3 p.m., North Tahoe Arts Center, 380 N. Lake Blvd., Tahoe City. Rick Halbardier, founding owner and CEO of Tahoe Ridge Winery, will present a program about wine making in Nevada. Tahoe Ridge Winery, established in 1990 and located in Minden, Nev., is Nevadaand#8217;s oldest continuously owned and operated wine and grape growing company. Tahoe Ridge produces 12,500 cases of unique European and inter-specific wines annually. Their award-winning blend of California vitis vinifera (European wine grapes) and the cold and hearty inter-specific high altitude Nevada grapes create a truly unique Alpine character. Halbardier is an interesting and entertaining speaker. The board members will provide refreshments. Board meeting will be prior to general meeting, 1 p.m. at Shirley Haleand#8217;s home in Tahoe City. All members and the public are welcome to attend the general meeting.
