Letter to the Editor: Amend Constitution to declare money not equal to speech

Money actually inhibits democratic principles in that it creates an inequality of “Free Speech,” allowing some voices to be amplified while others are drowned out. Money can create a platform for propaganda, misinformation and even indoctrination.

It can be a deadly misuse of power where the interests of a few are given priority over the general welfare of all Americans (and perhaps human beings as a species should be included as well).

Expressing our opinions freely is a privilege that needs to be protected in the light of how it protects a democratic and free country.
