Letter to the editor: Firefighters support community
During the past month, the North Tahoe Firefighters’ Association has seen a great show of support, proving that our community remains supportive, caring and involved.
The Snowfest Firefighters’ Pancake Breakfast kicked off the community parade. The ladies from the Firefighters Auxiliary were on hand as they have been for more than 30 years, helping your firefighters serve more than 500 breakfasts with a huge welcome. Guests coming in the door were a fantastic mix ” from long time locals, to those who journey west each year from the Great Lakes.
Following the pancake breakfast, our fully restored 1922 Seagrave’s Fire Engine made its parade entrance. This pumper, Tahoe City’s first fire engine, has undergone hundreds of caring hours of restoration and tireless effort to not only shine but be driven down North Lake Blvd with lights and siren glaring. What a sight that was!
Finally, our supporters from near and far made the annual St. Patrick’s Day Raffle a fantastic success. This all cash raffle raised funds to purchase firefighting and rescue equipment for your local firefighters. Way to go North Lake Tahoe ” our community support is still alive and having a great time doing so.
