Letter to the Editor: Grasshopper Soup an insult to readers
Bravo to Bob Shannon for his letter to the editor regarding Grasshopper Soup (4/17, “Stop the pipeline — and frisbees too”). I didn’t read the particular Grasshopper Soup to which he refers (I refuse to read this column), but I have no doubt that his observations are spot on.
No, Mr. Shannon, you are not the only Truckee resident who feels that the Sierra Sun would better serve its readers by dumping this column. I, too, find the “rambling nonsense” of Grasshopper Soup to be of little importance, not to mention insulting and a waste of ink.
I’ve actually written Letters to the Editor on the subject in the past, but they were not published because they sounded too much like “personal attacks” against Bob. Well, maybe they were … but anyone publishing columns that range from insipid blather to intentionally provocative blather should be prepared for a little blow-back.
Can’t the Sierra Sun find someone to write a column of actual substance, or something that’s actually funny, instead of this pablum? Grasshopper Soup is an insult to your readers.
